Barbecue soy burgers

These nutty burgers are a barbecue favorite, great on whole-wheat onion bun with the traditional toppings of tomato, cheese, lettuce and so on.

1 onion (small, chopped small)
2 clv garlic (minced or grated)
3 T olive oil
2 c beans (soy beans, cooked and drainted)
1⁄2 c bread crumbs (fine bread crumbs)
1 egg (or equivalent egg substitute)
2 T soy sauce
  pepper (freshly ground black pepper)

  1. In a small pan, sauté onion and garlic in olive oil, and cook until translucent. Set aside.
  2. In food processor, whiz beans, bread crumbs, egg, soy sauce and sesame seeds to a coarse meal. Transfer the mixture to a medium bowl.
  3. Add garlic-onion mixture and black pepper, and mix well. Shape into 4 patties.
  4. Cook on grill till browned, giving them about 5 minutes each side.

As the recipe contains soy sauce, it is unlikely it will need salt.
