Chocolate frosting

Description

Home made chocolate frosting is so much better than store bought in a can. Here’s a basic recipe you can make using ingredients you probably already have on hand.

Ingredients

1⁄4 c butter (melted before measuring)
1⁄3 c milk
1⁄4 t salt
3 c confectioner's sugar (confectioner's sugar)

Instructions

  1. Combine butter and cocoa in a large bowl; beat until well blended.
  2. Add the milk, vanilla and salt; beat until smooth.
  3. Gradually beat in the confectioner’s sugar until smooth and creamy. Add more milk if you desire a thinner consistency.

Notes

Add other condiments and flavorings. What about tangerine, orange, or coconut flavored chocolate frosting?

A white chocolate frosting should be prepared with melted white chocolate and melted butter.
