It is not your common egg custard.
2 q milk
2 c buttermilk
1⁄4 c sugar
- In a double broiler, heat milk.
- Mix together the buttermilk, eggs, and sugar in a separate bowl. Then add to the heated milk.
- Over a low heat, allow to simmer for 30 minutes. To keep the mixture from sticking, stir occasionally.
- Strain the milk and egg mix into a bowl and chill in the refrigerator for about 3 hours.
Serve with the fruit and honey.
