Tofu for a vegetarian dish with southern Asia flavor. Serve with rice noodles or brown rice.
- Add a tiny amount of water to a non-stick saucepan and cook onions and garlic until tender.
- Add the tofu slices and sauté for about 8 to 10 minutes.
- Stir in the Sambal Oelek, soy sauce and basil and cook until heated through.
- Serve immediately.
Use a wheat free soy sauce to make this recipe also free of gluten. Check ingredients for the sambal oelek sauce.
Thai basil would be the best variety to use for this recipe.
Slice the tofu into 1/5 inch slices and marinate in soy sauce for 30 minutes.
