Food equivalents to obtain the desired yields.

Find how much food you need to have at hand in order to obtain a certain yield to cook or to have the desired number of servings.

Almonds - 1 c shelled = 1 lb on the shell

Apple - 1 medium apple = 1 cup sliced // 1 lb = 3 medium apples

Banana - 1 medium = 1 cup sliced

Beans - 1 cup dry = 3 cups cooked

Butter - 1 cup = 8 oz = 225 g // 2 T = 1 oz

Bread - 2 slices = 1 cup soft crumbs // 3 slices = 1 cup dry crumbs

Cabbage - 1 lb = 4 cups shredded

Cheese - 1 cup grated = 1/4 lb

Chocolate - 1 oz = 1/4 cup grated = 4 T
  Chocolate chips - 2 oz = 1/3 cup

Cocoa - 4 oz = 1 c // 1 oz = 4 T

Flour - 1 c = 4.5 oz = 128 g // 1 lb = 4 c

Garlic - 2 cloves = 1 t minced

Graham crackers -1 cup crumbs = 18 crackers

Heavy cream - 1 cup fresh cream yields 2 cups whipped

  Brown sugar - 1 cup = 7.7 oz = 220 g // 1 lb = 2 cups
  Unsifted icing sugar - 1 cup = 4.5 oz = 128 g // 1 lb = 4 cups

Tomato - 1 medium = 1 cup chopped

Vegetable oil - 1 cup = 7.7 oz = 220 g

Walnuts - 2 cups shelled = 1 lb on the shell
